Do you have any of this in your yard?? This is a terrible plant, discovered in a Lake Forest, Illinois yard. It's called "Hogweed", a relative to carrot and Queen Anne's Lace. If you get any of it's sap on your skin, it will blister and fester, once exposed to the sun. The effects are called phototoxic and it would, at the very least, turn a good day into a bad one!
Just another example of exotic invasives being exotic and invasive....ugh

    Hi Sissy,
    I think this is the same plant that was found in our neighborhood a few years ago. It grows about 10 ft tall and can cause blindness. The county has to spray it with poisons to kill it. Horrible stuff! My hubby just told me the other day that a friend of ours not too far from here has it in her yard...she lives in a small village, and there are plenty of kids around. That stuff is dangerous!
