Our beautiful Easter Sunday dinner. I went to buy ham, but the rib roast was mis-marked to $4.99/lb!! I got this much prime rib for about $30.00!! I roasted the asparagus and had baked potato salad and carrot cake for dessert!

The boys went to visit Purdue after dinner and the Cubs game.
We bought Nick a car. The boys spent most of last weekend looking and called me to tell me they found one that was owned by a nun who only drove it to church. I told them they are giving you a load of crap. So, they brought home the original title. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/84/1st_Dodge_Stratus.jpg
The car was owned by the Sisters of Mercy in Aurora, Illinois. They bought it new with 35 miles on it.

I never thought we would buy his car. I really thought he should get a job and buy his own car, but my job starts next week and there's no way I can drive him everywhere he needs to go, once I start. His application process for WalMart is going well, the references he used called me to tell me WalMart called about him. That's always a good sign.

My Suburban is getting 7mpg. That's no typo. 7. It's got to go.

The weather is supposed to turn depressing, later today.

Light rain and snow. Little or no snow accumulation. Blustery. Lows in the lower 30s. East winds 15 to 25 mph. Chance of precipitation 80 percent.

Why couldn't we have this weather when we were supposed to-instead of the 80° temps we had in March? It feels like such a set-back. I keep looking beyond this week to the end of it. That's not a good sign. We are supposed to live in this day, use it to our full advantage. Just not garden, I guess....

  1. Wow, what a great car the boys found! That's the kind of find we all wish for when we're looking to buy a used car! We can pretty well be assured that the nuns didn't go roughhousing all over the roads in it! lol Your prime rib looks sooo yummy and cooked just the way I love it! xox

Look at that prime rib! I wish my store would make the same pricing mistake. We had balsamic-braised beef short-ribs, horseradish mashed potatoes and asparagus, so I guess I shouldn't complain too much!

  3. We went to a Chinese buffet for the 8th consecutive Easter so I didn't cook an Easter dinner. There wasn't any asparagus, but I like those long green beans and sesame chicken. The dessert was homemade, also a carrot cake.

Good luck with the car situation, Sissy! And the job situation. And the weather situation. Any more situations you need to fix?

  4. Sissy, I promise the weather will improve, it will! And I hope your son liked Purdue. I had my family over for Easter at my house, but we didn't have any prime rib!
