Run, run, as fast as I can....

I am not a cookie rookie. I know what I am doing around the oven, right? So, it is troubling to me that I turned this out:
Here's another view, just so you get the right perspective:

that's right. Poop cookies.

ugh
I tried to redeem them by icing them up, covering up the little poop tower thing.

To make matters worse, the kolachky blew up into giant puffy things that didn't set up even when cool. My daughter came to the rescue and we ended up with little kolachky cookies.
I made four different kinds, but none looked good to me. So, I put several different kinds on a platter. There. There you go. It's 9:20 pm. I started this project waaaaay before 9:20am. Why does it take me so long to get the simplest thing done?

I did talk to some of the other ladies going to the swap tomorrow and their cookies are falling apart, too....Must be the humidity. Nick is playing for advent service tomorrow and he doesn't know the songs very well and he doesn't have any more time.
Trouble is??? I signed him up. He has practiced every day since Sunday, a couple hours a day. I can't ask much more out of him. But he still doesn't know it!!
I will try to remember to take pics of the cookie swap tomorrow!
*Sandra, did you get my email, honey??? I am waiting to hear from ya!!*

I'm sorry they didn't turn out the way you wanted. They look tasty to me! The boys are coming to make cookies tonight but I don't know what we're making.

I'm betting Nick will do fine.

  2. I bet they tasted good.

I thought those caramel thumbprints looked too good to be true anyway (in the post below).

  4. Cookies don't always have to look good, as long as they taste good:-) I think yours look pretty nice anyway, nothing wrong with them at all!! I've been baking since I was 8 years old so don't really have many problems but I have had my days! lol

  5. I bet they ate up those "poop cookies" anyway. That's quite an image!

I think it's a Murphy's Law that if you're making something for a special event, it won't turn out the way you envisioned!
