Farewell, Fair Weather

Spent the last 2 days working in the yard. Tonight, as the sun set on a 57* day, I sat on the steps of the deck with a cup of coffee in my hand.
I watched the sun set all the way down. I wanted to soak every bit of it in. The weather of the last 2 days is historic, I need to know I got every bit of it.
I know it is the last time I will work in the yard for months.
Months.
Months will pass and the snow and cold will prevent me from moving compost around. That thought makes me uncomfortable.
Honestly, seriously, I don't think I am a Northern person. My Southern friends call me Yankee.
Hardly.

  2. I can't complain about winter yet, because it has yet to arrive. As with the weather you have been experiencing, the days have been very mild. Snow is forecast for tomorrow, so I might be doing my own weeping then.

Please, I beg of you....DON'T PUT YOUR HEAD IN THE OVEN! As Mike Ditka used to say, "this too will pass". Spring will be here before you know it. REALLY!

I took a picture of me outside yesterday with no coat on. I knew it would be the last time for weeks. Just keep that smile on your face! We will get through it together.

  6. I agree, not a winter person either. I sure enjoyed the nice days we had but knew it would come to an end. It just started snowing here.

  7. Yes it's snowing here now and the wind is whipping around like crazy. Not sure if the contractor's will be able to work in this today for the outside work. We'll see. Hope you aren't getting too much more up there.

  8. Winter has definitely arrived. I actually liked the snow and knowing I was cozy and warm inside. But this was enough--now I'm ready for spring:) Let's hope it doesn't last for months!

  9. I guess from reading some of the blogs from my american friends that a lot of you have had snow.My geography is not very good and I'm not quite sure where you are but I am wondering if we will get it over here. The UK quite often gets weather fronts from the US although its usually not as severe as it is for you.I guess we will have to wait and see.If we do get snow it doesnt usually hang around here for long thank goodness.
