Went grocery shopping today and discovered the Wally had the seeds and summer bulbs out!! Even with today's snow fall, spring will not be stopped!

Dutch Iris, Miss Saigon, for $5.00, I got 20 little bulbs.
Too bad it's not hardy in Zone 5....

Picasso Canna. I grew this variety before. 3 big rhizomes in this bag.
I will keep looking for a maroon leafed variety.
Commander in Chief Asiatic Lily
Interesting, it has red stamens and pistils! I will plant this among the larkspur I winter sowed. I think the blue and the deep red will be stunning.

  3. You're really getting into the gardening mindset :)
I thought all Iris were hardy. Try Googling Dutch Iris and see what you find out. Miss Saigon is gorgeous. So is the Canna, but that red lily is absolutely glorious. I hope they all do well for you.
Thanks for stopping by and for your sweet comment. Ross and I can't wait till he's home! February is almost over. Spring is just around the corner :)

  4. You have chosen some lovely flowers - our supermarkets are full of bags of summer bulbs and packets of seeds at the moment. To ánswer your question 'elevenses' is what we call a mid morning break over here - usually means stopping for a mug of coffee and a biscuit - lovely in the summer when you can sit out in the garden for 10 minutes or longer and wach the world go by:)
