I guess there really is no place like home. Glad you found some off the beaten path places to give you some nice memories.CountryGirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17001297474088654001noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17932982.post-84788872368368510492007-03-26T09:50:00.000-05:002007-03-26T09:50:00.000-05:00The only two cities I've enjoyed visiting are Toro...The only two cities I've enjoyed visiting are Toronto and San Francisco. In general I avoid them. I'm sorry the garden show was not what you were hoping for!

I take the rhodies here for granted, although I've never seen them grow wild in NY like they do along the highways in PA.

I killed the two JM that I tried here. Rhododendrons and azaleas have a tough time in the middle of the country. Wind and deep cold is some of it, but also they grow well where the soil is more acid, like the Eastern half of the US and Pacific northwest. Illinois prairie [like Central Texas] is pretty alkaline. I've always admired them, and had one do okay in Illinois, but it was a variety recommended for the midwest.

Camera snobs, hummph...my camera is also a Kodak EasyShare, Sissy.

Annie at the Transplantable RoseAnnie in Austinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14662139490401110432noreply@blogger.com
