Chronic pain just affects everything. I hope you are able to find some relief temporarily with medication, warm baths, etc. From my experiences, it seems everyone's back issues develop differently, and what works for one person sometimes doesn't work for another. When I was in my twenties I had lower back pain and sciatica and was diagnosed with Scoliosis. My X-rays looked scary too. During the 5 or so years that followed that I began light weight training, cardio, and also went to two different chiropractors. One chiropractor's efforts did nothing. I credit the other one with completely fixing my back. It was a huge difference between the two different doctors, so I encourage you to visit numerous doctors. That second chiropractor was in Florida when I lived there for a few years, and it was 15 years ago, so not sure if I could find her now to recommend her. After the five years of exercising and the chiro, the X-rays of my back looked different. Spine was straighter, and I have not had those problems since. So I know the spine can change. I have a friend who had some problems with the vertebrae in near his neck and they were recommending fusion. He chose to try Yoga and that helped him so much that he did not need to have the surgery. Please give us an update when you can. I am thinking about you and praying for you.Sherryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04074586187244917093noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17932982.post-15694375189355081822011-10-07T15:45:32.438-05:002011-10-07T15:45:32.438-05:00I'm so sorry you're in such pain!

I'm glad you are getting some relief from your chiropractor but it will definitely take some time. My niece is a chiro in Rockford and I went to her for the very first time earlier this year. You would say I was kinda skeptical, but have to say I'm hooked. I just think it is a very slow process, but the fusing doesn't sound so good. Sure hope your chiro can help you because back surgery sounds drastic. I actually got on the blog site to specifically let you know that the Na-Da Farm event on Woodlawn Road is this weekend - Friday evening and Saturday. Here is the link just in case.

http://www.nadafarmevents.com/p/barn-saleevent.html

I'm still not sure if I will be able to go. Please take care of yourself, listen to your body, and seek a second opinion if you do not start feeling better.
Take care, Connie (akaLOU)Connie (aka LOU)https://www.blogger.com/profile/01533897725798152947noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17932982.post-68872505880253082782011-10-04T20:54:04.983-05:002011-10-04T20:54:04.983-05:00Sissy, now that you have seen a chiropractor, you ...Sissy, now that you have seen a chiropractor, you should also see a regular doctor. Also, Ibuprofen must be taken before it gets out of hand--like most pain meds. Adults can take up to 12 tablets a day, either 3 four times or 4 three times. Two does nothing.

Hope this helps and that Ms. Cher reads this too!

GaleThe Darby Creek Diarieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01136745817506028023noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17932982.post-9794336970164926332011-10-04T06:20:20.180-05:002011-10-04T06:20:20.180-05:00Oh, Sissy, I'm so very sorry for what you'...Oh, Sissy, I'm so very sorry for what you're going through with your back/neck pain.

My husband had severe lower back pain this summer. He saw his chiropractor about ten times, but was actually getting worse. The chiropractor suggested he get an MRI because not everything can be seen on an xray. MRI showed that he had a herniated disk and a couple of bulging ones. He's had two steroid injections in the last few months and is so, so much better. Will it last? We don't know.

I'm a fan of chiropractors, but if you don't get relief from the pain soon, please consider other options.

In the meantime, prayers and positive thoughts for you.

Hang in there, blogger friend.

donnadonnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06950476333013336671noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17932982.post-31813919998779811252011-10-03T23:05:45.184-05:002011-10-03T23:05:45.184-05:00Sissy, I'm glad you're trying to take care...Sissy, I'm glad you're trying to take care of yourself. I'm glad that you went to see the chiropractor and that he was able to find the cause of your pain. It may take time but no doubt you will eventually find some relief once the massages, corrections, etc, start working. I'll keep you in my prayers, may you soon be free from all that pain. xoxoCarole Buranthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05497329055251626140noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17932982.post-65581341953987172252011-10-03T15:09:23.098-05:002011-10-03T15:09:23.098-05:00Oh dear Sissy, I wondered where you were. When we go the 'natural' route, vs. the 'modern medicine' route, it takes time. The body was made to heal itself, whereas modern medicine does it's best to take care of the pain now, but not get down to the root cause, or allow our bodies to heal, with diet, etc.

May you feel God's loving, healing presence flowing through and surrounding you at this time.

Read up on herbs and vitamins that will help in healing your spine.
