I'd love to try one with 3rd graders but 7th grade girls?? I'm glad you enjoyed it and still have your sanity!

Our last speaker assured us that we can plant our bulbs anytime before spring, even if it means sending our husbands out with a pick-axe to get through the frost. lol

I have a lot of family history but I pick and chose who I post about, which I guess is misleading. There are quite a few branches of the tree that were rotten. I do treasure some of the heirlooms that have been handed down but my most precious things came from people I love in the here and now.Charley "Apple" Grabowskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07193646109965731249noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17932982.post-1161934312932057302006-10-27T02:31:00.000-05:002006-10-27T02:31:00.000-05:00I am a first time visitor, and love the story abou...I am a first time visitor, and love the story about the couple giving away seeds, and might see about getting some. I love gardening and family history. One of my blogs is my grandmother's diaries from the 1920's. You might find it interesting. I went through my first corn maze last weekend and had so much fun in it...I didn't have a bunch of screaming girls with me though! lol In Flanders Fields is a poem that we learn in school from the time we are old enough to understand and I agree, it is indeed a very touching one! What a wonderful couple Sam & Yvonne are, sharing some of their seeds with others! Take care:-)Carole Buranthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05497329055251626140noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17932982.post-1161903959137233222006-10-26T18:05:00.000-05:002006-10-26T18:05:00.000-05:00That maze looks like so much fun. I think you can plant them as late as you can dig into the unfrozen ground. At least that's what I've always heard. So you have lot of time left.

I wasn't able to read the poem (too small print or too old eyes,,,not sure which. : )
I am familiar with the poppy and flanders field as I am a VFW Ladies Aux. member. The poppy is very important to the VFW.

I've never seen such large beautiful salvia. I hope your seeds grow as beautiful.Diana LaMarrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11324428666401187803noreply@blogger.com
